Photoinitiator 127 is a new type of high-efficiency non-yellowing UV initiator, which is used to initiate the UV polymerization of unsaturated prepolymer systems. It has the following characteristics:
1. Compared with traditional α-hydroxy ketone photoinitiators, it has better reactivity.
2. Low sensitivity to oxygen polymerization inhibition.
3. Low volatilization and low odor after curing.
The photoinitiation activity of photoinitiator 127 is equivalent to that of 1173 and 184. It has low sensitivity to oxygen and good surface curing effect, and is suitable for low viscosity, thin coating UV coatings. Due to its large molecular weight, low volatility, low odor and photolysis product odor, it is especially suitable for UV varnishes and topcoats with odor requirements. Combined with photoinitiators such as 379 and 819, excellent photoinitiation activity can be obtained, and can be used for UV ink and inkjet UV ink.
The photoinitiator 127 is especially suitable for various types of UV inks and transparent coatings, especially thin coatings like photocopying varnishes.
The tested photoinitiator 127 can be used alone or mixed with appropriate initiators. If it is mixed with IRGACURE 379 and IRGACURE 819, the absorption spectrum is red shifted and can be used for UV curing ink and ordinary semi-opaque system. Very high curing speed and low odor are exhibited in these applications, providing significant surface curability in UV curing inks (in combination with other photoinitiators).
Low volatility and low sensitivity to oxygen polymerization inhibition make photoinitiator 127 have better effects in photocopying varnish (ink) and wood floor top paint.
Photoinitiator 127 mixed with other initiators such as IRGACURE 250 in UV photocurable cationic inks and coatings has been proved to be a very efficient formula.
Transparent coating: 1-6% photoinitiator 127
Ink (free radical system): 2-5% photoinitiator 127 and other photoinitiators such as IRGACURE 379, IRGACURE 819 compound ink
Ink (cationic system):0.5-2% photoinitiator 127 compounded with other photoinitiators such as IRGACURE 250
Photoinitiator 127 are sensitive to light and should be avoided from exposure to sunlight, and the opened package should be re-sealed as soon as possible.
